TRC Poppy Trail | Centenary Remembrance Service

On the 10th of November, Thomas Rotherham College hosted a remembrance service for the 100 year anniversary of World War 1. It is a long-standing tradition for the college to host a ceremony as part of the national day of remembrance as TRC has its own war memorial which was presented to us by the Rotherham Grammar School Old Boys’ Association.

We decided to contribute a large piece of artwork created by the college wide community to display outside the college during the remembrance service. This poppy trail included 52 individually printed lino poppies, which were printed by staff, students and visitors on our open evening last Tuesday. This was then displayed at the front of the college by the war memorial, along with ceramic poppies created by Oakwood Academy.
