London Art Trip 2012

The Art Trip to London was a great success with students from both AS and A2 having a wonderful time exploring the major galleries and taking in the sights. We stayed in a fabulous hotel near St Paul’s Cathedral and the students made full use of all the facilities including the health club. The pool, sauna and steam room proved very popular after a hard day drawing, sketching and researching in the galleries!  We visited the Tate Modern, The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery. Our artists made excellent use of their time in these galleries and came back with some valuable research and studies to help further their exam prep.

After a full day in the galleries we all went to see Billy Elliot at Victoria Theatre. This was an amazing show and ended with both staff & students in tears as we gave a standing ovation when the curtain fell.

The students were exemplary in their behaviour and a credit to TRC. They made the best of every moment even enjoying the crush on the tube, and the long walk back along the Thames to the hotel.
Many thanks on behalf of the Art Department to all staff and students who contributed to the success of the trip. We look forward to a repeat success in 2013!
