We always love to hear from our ex-students and see where they are and what they are up to now, and a few weeks ago we were thrilled to hear from Fine Art and Graphics student Issy Marshall about her new work and hearing about her starting her own business! We asked her to write us a blog post about what she did after leaving TRC in 2021 and what she is up to now. Lovely to hear from you Issy!
Hi,
I’m Issy 😊
I
studied Fine Art and Graphic Communication during my time at TRC. After I had
completed my A Levels, I went on to do a course in 18+ Art Foundation at
Hillsborough college. However, this was nowhere near as good as my A Levels,
and I got a job for a local car wrapping company where I was head of their
marketing and social media. Pretty cool if you ask me.
During
my time at TRC, learning to gather as much information and constantly
experiment helped me during my time at Hillsborough. And of course, doing many
photoshoots over the course of my A Levels helped me know a thing or two on
grabbing content for my marketing job.
As of
right now however, I am currently building my own business where I will
hopefully start to sell prints and other items by the start of next year. Over
the course of 2022, I have been designing posters and prints using procreate
and building up my own social media pages. I hope that in the next few years to
grow my business and have it become my full-time job. I also want to have my
own shop and studio space where I can teach workshops on printing methods and
graphic design to the general public.
Check out Issy on Instagram for some super work and reels showing her process creating her designs!
