Photography

Photography includes lens and light-based media and film, video, digital imaging and light-sensitive materials. The Photography course here at TRC is highly creative and experimental, working with a broad variety of practical media to develop your own photographic images. Sometimes, the images that you produce will be used to convey messages and create work that has a practical function, such as an advert or illustration. Alternatively photographic images can also be used as light projections within theatrical or architectural spaces or as artistic installations. Photography is so much more than point and click. It should be developed in a highly creative way to express personal experience. Students work will be a creative enquiry and expression involving the selection and manipulation of your own photographic images. They will learn how to employ creative approaches which go beyond mere observation and recording, learning how to manipulate and work with your photography to develop images for either practical function or personal expression.
