Graphic Communication

Graphic communication is all about conveying information and ideas by visual means. Work can be two or three dimensional, developed through the manipulation of images and the formal elements. The critical point for a graphic designer is the successful communication of a message through the creative organisation of images and words. At TRC we encourage digital work such as Photoshop, but also ample traditional art and design techniques, including printing and painting. Students must be open to the possibilities offered by using a huge range of materials and processes within Graphics. You will work to a design brief, solving a design problem. Ideas should be developed recognising the constraints of moral, social, cultural, environmental and legal issues, exactly as a practicing graphic designer would.
