Yesterday we took our first year Photography students on a trip to Wentworth Woodhouse! The day was split into two halves, taking one group around the house in the morning, zipping back to college for some lunch, then getting back onto the minibus with our second group for the afternoon session. Both sessions were roughly two hours long - which isn't a lot of time to get round a house of over 300 rooms! So we had a route planned which meant we would hit all the major rooms that would be great for photography, this included the Marble Salon, the Long Gallery, and a derelict part of the house that was previously part of the old Lady Mable College. Although it was quite a rush to get round, all our students worked so hard to fit it all in and got some amazing photographs! We can't wait to see them all uploaded and edited! The whole day was a fantastic experience for the students, and for us! It's not often you get the opportunity to basically have free reign of such a stunning building, so a huge thank you to everyone at Wentworth Woodhouse for having us.
We also had the pleasure of Danny Rose and Steven Jones from Awesome Design coming around with us to help students with their photography - even bringing with them a bag of glasses that are great for obscuring photographs! Their support and advice was such a great help for all our students, so big thank you to Danny and Steven for taking the time to come along and sharing some of your invaluable knowledge with us! They also took some fantastic headshots of all the students that came on the trip!
