Thomas Rotherham Arts Collective Launch!

Thomas Rotherham Arts Collective

On the 28th May, we launched the beginning of the Thomas Rotherham Arts Collective which has been inspired by the business challenge that our students took part in earlier in the year. Both students and staff have designed and created products that have been sold to the public at the Hillsfest Benefit on the bank holiday in the Sheffield City Hall. All designs and products were hand-made in the department!

This was a great success for a quiet event as we raised £140 due to the prints, cards, notebooks, sketchbooks, lampshades, drawings, bags and tea-towels that were displayed and sold at the event. Due to this success, we are continuously encouraging the students to take full control of the collective and to participate in future stall events to raise further money for the department and college charity.

We are hoping to make products available for sale in college so watch this space! Huge thank you to all students who contributed to the stall as we received many compliments by the public - particularly Amy Gillott and Isobel Frost. It was a joy to receive such positive feedback at a professional even organised by a well-known gallery.
