This years A2 Manchester Trip also marked the start of our first ESA Component 2 since 2020! After giving the students the exam paper on the coach (and the new theme!), we arrived at the Whitworth. The Whitworth gallery was exhibiting a variety of exhibitions, including the work of Althea McNish, and two collective exhibitions curated around the themes of LGBTQ+ identity, and the 'Open Houses' exhibition. Following lots of drawings, photographs and a mooch around the gift shop (for Graphics products of course!), we sat down to lunch in the promenade. Then it was a short trip over to the Manchester Art Gallery, which had a large variety of exhibitions including a Susanne Lacy instillation piece, and a collection of costumes, paintings and photographs around the theme of 'Dandy Style'.
Overall there was a great variety of work on display and some great inspiration for the new theme and pathway ideas. We can't wait to see it all presented! Well done everyone and thank you for a lovely day!
