Y12 Yorkshire Sculpture Park Trip | 2023

 On Thursday 23th March we took our Y12 students to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to kick start their Major Coursework Project. Students had been researching YSP artists as part of their pathway ideas over the last few weeks, so this was a chance to see the work in person and gain primary research including drawings and photographs of the work and the park itself. Unfortunately we were hit by rain on and off throughout the trip which was quite the challenge for drawing and photography - but our students powered through and did the best they could against the elements! It was still a great day and lovely to see some of the fantastic exhibitions, including Robert Indiana and Leonardo Drew. Here are just a few photos of the day itself! 

Manchester Bee Badge Winners!

Last year we purchased a few Manchester bee badges from The Whitworth gallery on our annual Y13 Manchester trip to reward students who worked super productively on the day researching and producing superb drawings and/or photographs, and did a fantastic job of their visit pages in their sketchbook. This was such a lovely idea that we decided to make this a yearly award to shout out those students who really made the most of the trip and went to town on their research and presentation!
